A 17-year old girl died of dengue in Khulna

A 17-year old girl died of dengue who were undergoing treatment at a private medical college hospital on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Ema, daughter of Younus Ali, hailed from Amratola village under Mongla upazil in Bagerhat district.

Ima was admitted to the Gazi Medical College and Hospital at around 10.30 pm on August 22 with fever and died on August 23, hospital sources said.

 

A total of 28 dengue patients have been admitted to the Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) and Khulna General Hospital (KGH) in the city during the last 24 hours till 8 am today.

Some 14 patients were released from the hospital during the period, Dr Suhash Ranjan Halder, residential medical officer (RMO) of the KMCH told journalists.

A total of 88 dengue patients are taking treatment in the district at present, he said.

Khulna Civil Surgeon Dr Sazibur Rahman said, in the current year, a total of 953 patients were admitted to KMCH and KGH and four dengue patients have died of dengue in the district so far.
